Obituary

SALEM - Carrie F. “Frances” (Lendall) Lear, 90, wife of the late Herbert Putnam Lear, died Monday, December 6, 2010 following a long illness.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Claribel (Saul) Lendall, and was a graduate of the Salem Commercial School.

Frances was first employed as a secretary in the offices of the A.C. Lawrence Leather Company in Peabody, and later she worked at the Daniel Low Company in Salem for 15 years prior to her retirement.

A lifelong resident of Salem until going into a nursing home, she was an active member of the First Universalist Society, Salem, where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Union Rebecca Lodge of Salem and the Danvers Alarm List, Danvers.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Ronald Wollinger of Woburn, Roberta and Stephen Crowell of Danvers, Deborah and George Smith of West Brookfield, seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held Friday, December 10, 2010 at 11 am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Visiting hours are Thursday, 4 to 8 pm. Burial is in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
