Grace D. (Sanford) Smith, 91 of Westport died Monday, December 6, 2010 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility in New Bedford. She was wife of the late Harvey H. Smith.
Born in Fall River, she was daughter of the late Albert and Emma (Thornley) Sanford. She was a member of the United Parish of Fall River, the United Parish Women’s Group, the Old Colony Women’s Group and was a docent for the New Bedford Whaling Museum. Mrs. Smith was an avid gardener and reader.
Survivors include a son: William D. Smith and his wife Ida of New Bedford; a daughter: Barbara L. Tripp and her husband Michael of Westport; a daughter-in-law: Sharon Smith of MI; 4 grandchildren: Nicholas Smith, Adam Smith, Jessica Tripp and Emily Sanchez; 1 great granddaughter: Loagan Brown.
She was mother of the late Clifford H. Smith.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Friday 5 – 8 P.M.
Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Westport.
