Margie Nell Motley Hyler, age 78, of 117 Deercrest Lane, Danville, Virginia, died Monday, December 6, 2010 in Danville Regional Medical Center. She had been in declining health for the past three months and in serious condition in the hospital for the past two months.
Born November 24, 1932 in the Vandola Community of Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Claude Motley and Katie Gammon Motley. She lived in the Bachelors Hall Community for sixty years and was a homemaker and wife to her husband, Archer Hyler, who survives. Mrs. Hyler attended Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter: Barbara Hyler McCarty and her husband Jody of the Stony Mill Road; one son: Michael W. Hyler and his wife Robin of Bachelors Hall; two sisters: Minnie Bundrick of Maryland and Ann English of South Carolina; one brother: David Motley of Westover Drive; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one sister and four brothers.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Gill Hawks and Rev. Duane Blevins will be held at the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2010.
Interment will follow in Schoolfield Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m., and at other times, they will be at the residence on Deercrest Lane.
