OBITUARY
Gardner
Rachel A. (Walton) Goodman, 78, former long time resident of the Fitchburg
area died Monday December 6, at home in Gardner after a long battle with
lung cancer caused by cicarette smoking, with her loving family at her
bedside.
Rachel was an avid reader who also loved to do Soduko. She loved
playing games with family and friends. She was loved by all and touched
many lives. Most important to Rachel was the love she had for her family
and her beloved dog Bear.
Rachel was born in Leominster April 2, 1932, the daughter of Roger Sr. and
Ruth (Ringer) Walton. She lived most of her life in the Fitchburg Leominster
and Sterling area before moving to Gardner a year and a half ago.
Rachel graduated from Quinsigamond Community College with a degree in
computer Technology. She was a member of the Leominster United
Methodist Church.
Rachel is survived by her husband of 42 years, Leonard J. Goodman, two
sons Scott W. Bever 1st of Gardner and Edward J. Bever 1 and his wife
Carrie of S.C. Seven daughters, Belinda Scott of Gardner, Donna Boutwell
of W. Va. Robin Norton of Fitchburg, Sandra Turner and her husband
Wayne of Tewksbury, Cheryl Engel and her husband Mark of N.C. Lori
Snowden and her husband Tony and Kristine "Ruth" Goodman of
Fitchburg. She also leaves one sister Jane Peabody and her husband
Edmond of S. Dennis. Thirty six grandchildren, thirty four great
grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Her son Robert H.
Bever ll and her daughter Elizabeth A. Goodman, died before her. Her
Brother Roger Walton Jr. and her sister Jean Kennedy also predeceased
her.
Calling hours for Rachel will be held on Wednesday December 8, from 3 to
6 P.M. in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. followed by a service at 6
P.M.
