Whitman – Lois E. (Drake) Denham 96 died Saturday December 4 in the Coyne Healthcare Center of Rockland after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late William I. Denham.
Born and raised in Whitman she was the daughter of the late Roy C. Sr. and Myrtie G. (Bates) Drake, and a graduate of Whitman High School.
For 12 years she had worked as a bookkeeper for the former C & C Tool & Die of Whitman.

Lois had been a lifetime resident of Whitman until her move to the Halifax Mobile Home Park, where she resided for over thirty years. While in Halifax she became an active member of the many functions at the mobile park and was the recipient of an award for her outstanding service and countless hours volunteering at the Halifax Council of Aging. She was a former member of the United Church of Christ in Halifax. She later returned to Whitman and became an active member of the Methodist Church.
She enjoyed bowling, playing pool and was an avid Red Sox fan, and loved the challenge of her double solitaire card games but her greatest joy came from time spent with her family. Lois was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Lois was “famous” for the lifelong daily journal she kept, and was extremely loyal to making her entrees each and everyday, it was a great source of information to all.
The family of Lois would like to thank the staff at Coyne Healthcare and Hospice nurses for their special care.
She is survived by her loving daughters Sandra L. and her husband David Bouldry of Whitman, and Thalia A. and her husband Rev. Robert Weimert of Florida, her sister Barbara I.
