Elizabeth Leake Coarsey, 101, of Clinton, Louisiana, a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Grace Nursing Home in Clinton, Louisiana. She will be truly missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends on December 8, 2010, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Coarsey was born on August 9, 1909 in Tifton and was the daughter of the late Joe B. and Nancy Leake. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nathan L. Coarsey, Jr. and one son, Nathan L. “Fuzzy” Coarsey, III. She was a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana for many years and a retired House Mother of Louisiana State University.
She had six children, Nathan “Fuzzy” and wife Linda, Jimmie and wife Peggy, Joe and wife Tug, Betty and husband Ken Montgomery, Nancy and husband Jerry Guillot and Carolyn Coarsey and husband Jeff Morgan; two special nieces, Sarah and Mary Moore; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
