GAINESVILLE, Va. -- Rachel (Moore) Hines, 78, of Jacksonville, N.C., formerly of North Dartmouth, Mass., died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, after a brief illness. She was the widow of William F. Hines Jr.
Born in North Carolina, the daughter of the late Murray and Mamie (Walla) Moore, she lived much of her married life in Massachusetts. She moved to Jacksonville in 1978, where she was a communicant of the Infant of Prague Church.
Mrs. Hines had been employed by Northwood Drugs. She was president of the Brynnwood Homeowners' Association.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Ostensen and her husband, George, of Gainesville; a sister, Frances Lovell of Sedalia, Mo.; a brother, Murray Moore of Kinston, N.C.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Her private funeral arrangements were by the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford, Mass.
