Simone Marie (Messier) Rathbun 65, of Atwood Ave , formerly of Nolan St. in West Warwick, died Wednesday at Fatima Hospital. She was the wife of the late Walter E. Rathbun Jr. Simone was born in West Warwick a daughter of the late Almanzor and Gloria (Chandronette) Messier. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She was also a school bus driver in West Warwick for over six years.
Simone is survived by her children, Denise Auclair of West Warwick, Walter E. Rathbun III, of N. Providence, Almanzor Rathbun of FL, John Rathbun of N. Providence, Sandra Rathbun of Johnston, and Sonny Rathbun of N. Providence, eight grandchildren , four great grandchildren, eleven siblings, Almanzor, Richard, Lionel, David, Raymond, Dennis, Walter, Doris, Edith, Rosemary and Gloria, She was also the mother of the late Dennis and Jacqueline Rathbun.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a service at 11:00 AM in St. Ann's Art and Cultural Center, 84 Cumberland St. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Coventry. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Ann's Art and Cultural Center in her memory would be appreciated.
