Dovie Cooper Pritchard, 89, of Tifton died Friday, December 3, 2010, at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Olin Hamlin and Dr. Danny Ray will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Russ Hodnett, Nick Hodnett, Rick Hodnett, Jonathan Hodnett, Tim Hodnett and Robert Swain, Jr. will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Pritchard was born on October 1, 1921 in Tift County and was the daughter of Ira Cooper and Etta Mae West Cooper, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Leslie Pritchard; three brothers, Clarence Cooper, C. L. Cooper and Bennie Cooper; one sister, Rozeane Lovett Summerall; and one brother-in-law, Harvey Ross. She was retired from J. P. Stevens and had lived in Tift County her entire life.
Mrs. Pritchard is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Jerry Swain of Tifton and Karen and Tim Hodnett of Tifton; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Christine Ross of Valdosta, Virginia and Paul Layton of Lake City, Florida; and Betty Johnson of Tifton; five grandchildren and their spouses, Robert and Lucinda Swain of Lake Arrowhead, California, Jeri Lyn and Jim Tremblay of Altamonte Springs, Florida, Russ and Lisa Hodnett of Tifton, Rick and Corey Hodnett of Tifton and Nick Hodnett of Tifton; and eight great grandchildren.
