Guy B. Perkins, age 75, died on Friday, December 3, 2010 at his home in Water Valley, MS. He was born on January 28, 1935 in Lafayette County, MS to the late Edward Lee and Annie Mae Maples Perkins. Guy B. was retired with over 30 years of service with Holley Carburetor/Borg-Warner. Mr. Perkins was a member of the Sand Hill First Congregational Methodist Church in Water Valley, MS. Guy B. was passionate about coon hunting.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 10:00AM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Virgil Nelson and Bro. Roger Hunter officiating. Cory Perkins, Cody Perkins, Timothy Perkins, Phillip Ross, J. P. Nelson, and Scott Nelson will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be at the Black Jack Cemetery in Panola County, MS.
Guy B. is survived by four daughters, Melinda (Mack Files) Perkins, Kathy (Travis) Goad, Melissa (Mark) Goodwin and Carolyn (Gary) Kelly, all of Water Valley, MS; one son, Bobby (Alma) Goodwin of Water Valley, MS; two sisters, Mary Ann Huckaby of Oxford, MS and Brenda (James) Floyd of Water Valley, MS; One brother, John (Judy) Perkins of Water Valley, MS; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Guy B. was preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria Poteete Perkins and his second wife, Edna Perkins; one son, Chris Elmore; three sisters, Beatrice Mann, Dolly Bolaus and Ruby Sullivan; and two brothers, Monroe Perkins and W.D. Perkins.
