RICHARD P. "RITCHIE” ROURKE, of Hull, formerly of Hingham, Weymouth and Cohasset, passed away on Dec. 3rd, 2010 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was 65.
He was born Nov. 13, 1945 in Medford. He grew up in Hingham and graduated from Hingham High School in 1963 and Boston University in 1967. He was the son of Willlam J. Rourke, Sr. of Wolfeboro, NH and the late Elaine (Ferreira) Rourke.
Beloved husband of 41 years to Gail E. (McMillan) Rourke of Hull. Proud father of James and his wife Andrea (Pouliot) Rourke of Westport, CT and Michele Feist of Hull. Loving grandfather of Charlie and Alyssa Feist and Caroline and Aiden Rourke. Brother of John and his wife Margaret of Hingham and William of Florida. Also survived by his brother-in-law, Scott McMillan and his wife Cheryl of Hingham, 8 nieces and nephews, and 13 great nieces and great nephews.
After leaving college in 1967, he served proudly with the US Army and took his basic training at Fort Dix and Fort Sill. He served with the 6th Battalion, 14th Artillery as an operations specialist. He also spent time with the Special Forces. Richie was stationed in Viet Nam for 14 months during the war.
He worked for Norfolk Conveyor and Sylvania before joining The Flatley Co. in 1973 where he became Vice President of the commercial and industrial division.
Richie enjoyed spending time at his home in Wolfeboro, NH, boating and waterskiing. He also loved to snow ski, skiing at more than 25 different resorts, golfing and travel. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.

A Prayer Service will be conducted on Tuesday, Dec. 7th at 10 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham. Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Monday from 4-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Active Day Adult Day Care Center, 20 Pond Park Dr., Hingham, MA 02043 or to The Alzheimer's Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
Interment will be in Fort Hill Cemetery, Hingham.
