Louisa Y. Lachance, 93 died Wednesday at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Antonio E. Lachance. Mrs. Lachance was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Louis and Yvonne (Belliveau) Plasse. She worked as a nurse's aide at the former Woonsocket Hospital for fifteen years before retiring. She was a cook for the priests at Precious Blood Rectory and for the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. Mrs. Lachance was an advocate for selfless service, she was a Eucharistic minister, and enjoyed spending her time knitting and painting.
She is survived by three sons Charles Emile Lachance of N. Smithfield, Gerard L. Lachance and Antonio J. Lachance, both of Woonsocket, three daughters Colette Babcock of Port Richey, FL, Bernadette Thibault of Salem, NH, and Marie-Anne Laquerre of Woonsocket, a half Brother Raymond Taylor of, MA, a half-sister Marguerite Shaw of Cranston, eight grand children and 6 great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM form the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-4 PM.
