Betty Jean Rey, 71, Clarksville, died Thursday, December 2, 2010, at her residence. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Todd Gray officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 P.M. Sunday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of the seervice Monday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born October 4, 1939 in Henderson, KY. She was preceded in death by her father James Presley. Ms. Rey was owner of Kids Stuff & More Daycare Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, a member of the National Young Children's Association, former adjunct professor at APSU, former member of Northwest High School Band Boosters, Northwest Little League sponsor and volunteer, and member of the Small Business Association. She was a graduate of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY and former special education teacher with Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. She was devoted to and sponsored many children's charities and organizations. Survivors include her mother, Irene McKinney, Paris, KY; a son, William (Bill) Lander, Lenoir, NC; two daughters, Jennie Alveti; and Lori Campbell-Lewis, both of Clarksville; a sister, Yvonne Hume, Lexington, KY; two brothers, Don McKinney, Bryantsville, KY and Jon McKinney, Paris, KY; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Paul Lewis, Chris Alveti, Matthew Hickman, Kyle Matheney, Noble Brooks, and Josh Ruppard. Honorary pallbearrs will be employees of Kids Stuff and More Daycare.
