Jeanne M. (Parent) Murphy, a longtime resident of Melrose, died on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Heritage House Nursing Home in Lowell following a lengthy illness. She was 86 years old.
Jeanne was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, on April 26, 1924 to the late Oscar and Henrietta (Middleton) Parent. She grew up in Lynn where she attended Lynn Public Schools and graduated from Lynn High School. Jeanne has been a homemaker most of her adult life caring for her family.
Jeanne is the wife of the late John W. Murphy. She is the devoted mother of Janet Murphy and her husband Robert Rau of North Chelmsford and James Murphy and his wife Debra of East Wakefield, New Hampshire.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jeanne's visiting hours on Saturday, December 4, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon followed by her Funeral Service at 12 noon in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Melrose. Interment Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
