DUDLEY - Albert P. “Alley Cat” Rizner, 85, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Harrington Healthcare at Hubbard.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Pauline C. (Mellen) Rizner; 2 daughters, Susan L. Nowak and her husband Robert T. Nowak, and Nancy J. Marcoux and her husband David H. Marcoux, all of Webster; 3 grandchildren, Deanna Mayrhofer, Christopher Nowak and Kelly Seddiki; 4 great grandchildren, Alessandro, Claudia, Giada and Matthew; 4 brothers, Edward Rizner of Southbridge, Harold and George Rizner of West Dudley, and John Rizner of Montpelier, VT; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother James Rizner of Vernon, CT. He was eagerly awaiting the birth of his newest great granddaughter in January, 2011.
He was born in Southbridge and raised in West Dudley, a son of John and Anna (Knapp) Rizner and lived in Dudley since 1957.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star.
Mr. Rizner worked at Pratt Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT for 36 years, retiring as a manager in 1987.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oxford. He was an ardent fan of the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins. He enjoyed listening to his radio and especially his scanner. He often went fishing with his 2 sons-in-law, whom he considered as his own sons.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 3, at 11:00 AM in Zion Lutheran Church, 70 South Main Street. Oxford. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, December 2, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster.
