DeVirgilio, Mary L. (Accardi) of Medford formerly of Everett, died peacefully November 30th. Beloved wife of John A. DeVirgilio with whom she shared 68 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Marie Cooke and her husband Richard of Stoneham, Joanne Jaffe and her husband Haskell of Winthrop, Anthony J. DeVirgilio and his wife Bernadette of Medford, and John DeVirgilio and his wife Beverly of Stoneham. Also survived by seven loving grandchildren and four loving great grandchildren. Sister of the late Anna Imbornone and Josephine Sciascia. Born and raised in Everett to Vitina and Antonio Accardi, the founders of Accardi Foods. A dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, Mary supported her family in building their small North End business into New England’s largest distributor of Italian Foods, now located in Medford. Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Saturday, December 4, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St. Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy be sent in Mary’s name to the Bread of Life, 511 Main St. Malden, MA 02148.
