McGLINCHEY, Carol J. 72, a longtime resident of Wellesley, Massachusetts, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 28, 1938, in Providence, RI. Carol grew up in Warwick, RI, and attended the University of Rhode Island, graduating with a degree in Biology. She went on to be the Executive Director of NASPE, and very much enjoyed her work. After retirement, Carol pursued her passion for photography by starting her own business selling her floral, landscape and ephemera photographs.She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne McGlinchey of Melrose, MA; daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Wells Aitken of Winchester, MA; son, John McGlinchey of Albuquerque, NM; her father, Norman Jacobson of West Greenwich, RI; her brother and sister-in-law Carl and Kathie Jacobson of Indianapolis, IN; her sister, Sonja Jacobson of Coventry, RI. She also leaves behind her five beloved grandchildren who brought her much joy in life, as well many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends. Calling hours will be held December 3, 2010, at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church at 389 Greenwich Ave, Warwick, RI, from 10 am-11 am with a memorial service to follow. Interment will be at the Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown, RI, with a reception to follow. Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Diabetes Association .
