Daniel G. Barney, age 59, a resident of Chicago, IL and formerly of Lunenburg, MA, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2101 at his home. He was born September 20, 1951 in Fitchburg; MA .Dan received his BA and MA from the University of Connecticut and his PhD from Marquette University. Prior to his executive roles at IBM and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, he was employed in the Natick Public Schools.
He is survived by his wife Maureen(Kennedy) Barney. His mother Vera (Rawchuck) Barney. Two sisters: Vera Anne Larkin of Harvard, MA and Ellen (Michael) Vernon of Issaquah, WA. His brother-in-law Edward (Linda) Kennedy of Charlestown and two sisters –in-law Janet Pethic of Concord, NH and Joanne (Mark) Bergin of Natick, MA. Nieces and nephews Thomas, Joseph, Evan, Mark, Corey, Kelly, Timothy, Elizabeth, Caitlin and Michael, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Grover Barney
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 10:00 a.m. at St Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central St, Natick, MA. Interment private. Memorials in Dan’s name may be made to the Pan Mass Challenge (Dana Faber Cancer Institute) 77 4th Avenue, Needham, MA 02494.
