Gerald Francis Duncan, Sr., of Natick, passed away at his home on October 31, 2010. He was 80 years old.
Born in Norwood, the son of the late Roland Duncan, he was raised by his mother Adeline (Lapham) Hopkins & step-father Albert Hopkins. Mr. Duncan was raised & educated in Natick where he graduated from Natick High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict & was trained as an apprentice shipfitter at the Charlestown Navy Yard. For many years Mr. Duncan was employed at Sears Roebuck in Natick prior to his retirement in the early 1980?s. A devoted family man, Mr. Duncan was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness in 1977 & found great happiness in serving in their community.
The beloved husband of Emma P. (Fenoff) Duncan with whom he shared 60 years of marriage, he was the devoted father of Dolores Walch & her late husband Arthur of Natick, Joan Stearns & her husband Philip of Williamsville, NY, & Gerald F. Duncan, Jr. & his wife Darlene of Natick. He is also survived by 6 loving grandchildren, Arthur IV, Lori, Philip, Brian, Bradley, & Jonathan & 12 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Arthur V, Brittany, Christopher, Kayla, Emma, Milania, Victoria, Gianna, Jacob, Arianna, & Haleigh.
Visitation with the Duncan family will take place on Wed. November 3, 2010 from 5-7 PM at Kingdom Hall, 85 Bacon St. Natick, MA 01760 with a Memorial Talk to follow at 7:00 PM.
