Geraldine F.(Perry) Campbell, 86, of Mansfield formerly of Jamaica Plain and Roslindale passed away unexpectedly on Sunday November 28, 2010 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony A. Campbell, to whom she was wed for 49 years at the time of his death on April 16, 1992.
Born in South Portland, Maine on June 24, 1924 she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Doris (Moody) Perry.
Geraldine grew up in South Portland, was educated in South Portland public schools and was a 1941 graduate of South Portland High School
Mrs. Campbell was a retired cashier, having worked for 25 years at Stop & Shop in Roslindale before retiring. A resident of Mansfield for the past 15 years she had previously made her home in the Jamaica Plain and Roslindale sections of Boston.
Geraldine enjoyed reading. Knitting and crocheting. She loved being with her family and especially taking care of her grandchildren.
She was the devoted mother of Gail F. Humphrey and her husband William, Sr. of Easton and Linda L. Kelly and her husband Paul of Mansfield. She was the sister of Phyllis Dumont of Maine and the late Frederick Perry, Donald Perry, Beverly Andreasen and Dorothy. Mrs. Campbell is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Robyn Dunphy, William Humphrey, Jr., Kristin Harrison, Meaghan Peterson and Paul Kelly as well as 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday December 2nd at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday December 1st from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
