DUDLEY, Janice A. “Jan” (Loveland) Bourque, 73, of 8 Upper Perryville Road, died Sunday, November 28, 2010, in Lanessa Extended Care Facility after an illness. Her husband of 41 years, Donald E. Bourque, died in 2002.
She leaves a son, Christopher S. Bourque and his wife Regina M. Bourque; a daughter, Michelle L. Bourque, all of Dudley; and 2 grandchildren, Brian P. Bourque of Uxbridge and Brittany L. Bourque of Dudley.
She was born in Boston and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Wilbur and Dorothy (Estaver) Loveland. She graduated from North High School in 1955 and from Hahnemann Hospital School for Nursing in 1958. She lived in Webster for 7 years before moving to Dudley in 1968.
Mrs. Bourque was a registered nurse. She originally worked at Hahnemann Hospital in Worcester. After raising her family, she worked at Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster for 20 years, retiring as the charge nurse of Unit A in 1998.
She was an active member of the Church of the Reconciliation in Webster. She was head of its altar guild for many years. She had once served on the church vestry and also sang in the church choir for several years. She was an avid Red Sox and Bruins fan.
The funeral will be held Thursday, December 2, at 10:00 AM in the Church of the Reconciliation, 5 North Main Street, Webster. Burial will be in Waldron Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 1, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster. Donations in her name may be made to the Church of the Reconciliation Memorial Fund, 5 North Main Street, Webster, MA 01570.
