
Wareham – John C. Molla, Sr. 82, formerly of Rockland died Sunday November 28 surrounded by his loving family after a brave battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Small) Molla.
Born in Bridgewater and raised in Brockton he was the son of the late Arthur and Edith (Rinaldi) Molla and a graduate of Brockton High School.
John was a proud veteran of the US Navy having served during World War II from February 1946 to December 1947.
He was a graduate of the Massachusetts School of Barbering, and in 1953 he founded and operated John’s Barber Shop of Rockland for many years. Upon his retirement in 1997 he sold the family business to his daughter and son-in-law.
John was a resident of Rockland from 1954–1992, when he moved to the Wareham home he had bought in the late 1960’s. For thirty years John along with his family had spent many enjoyable vacations and weekends in Wareham.
John loved fishing, golfing and the challenge of a good cribbage game.
He is survived by his loving daughters Linda Toohey and her husband Kevin and Lisa Ingalls and her husband Paul all of Plympton, his sisters Eleanor Fay of West Bridgewater, and Patricia Erickson of CA. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Brian, Billy, and Brendan Toohey, and Jeanine and Joseph Ingalls, and his great grandson Jeremy Toohey.
His funeral service will be held Thursday December 2 at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
