Rose E. Spilewski, 84

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Rose E. (Armfield) Spilewski, 84, a lifelong resident of Mansfield passed away in the comfort of her home on Monday November 29, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the late Adam “Ski” Spilewski, to whom she was wed for 58 years at the time of his death on August 31, 2008.
Born in Taunton, MA on January 11, 1926 she was a daughter of the late James A. and Cora M. (Murray) Armfield.
Rose was educated in Mansfield and was a 1944 graduate of Mansfield High School. A retired Group Leader, Mrs. Spilewski had worked at Texas Instruments in Attleboro for over 30 years before retiring. She was a member of the Texas Instruments Retirees club where she, for many years served as the sunshine lady
After retiring from T.I. she enjoyed working at the Great Woods Stain Glass Shop, a business owned and operated by her nieces.
Rose, along with family and friends enjoyed two trips taken to England. Her hobbies included gardening and backyard bird watching. She was a member of the Church of St. John the Evangelist in Mansfield, loved animals and treasured the summers spent at the family home on Swan Pond in Maine.
She is survived by her devoted children Ellen C. Spilewski of Mansfield, William F. Spilewski and his wife Sonia of Monponsett, Stephen M. Spilewski of Mansfield and the late Tina Damarell and Paul Spilewski. She was the sister of the late James Armfield and is also survived by her loving 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday December 3rd at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield . Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday December 2nd from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
