Mr. Michael A. Giggi, age 87 of Medford MA, died Sunday in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Medford following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Gloria (Giolito) Giggi with whom they shared more than 61 years of marriage. Mr. Giggi was born and raised in Medford the son of the late Anthony and Carmella (Muollo) Giggi. He is a graduate of Medford High School class of 1941. He also continued his education in Boston at Wentworth Institute and later at Franklin Tech. He served in the Marine Corps during WWII and achieved the rank of Corporal.
He will be remembered as a loving husband and dad, who stressed the importance of family values. He was a loving, caring supportive husband and quite the joker. He had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and was a terrific handyman. He was a Master Electrician, the proprietor of the former Giggi Electric Company in Medford for over 35 years. In addition to his wife he is the devoted father of Paul Giggi and his wife Deborah of GA., Diane Brandon and her husband George of NH. and the late Karen Giggi. Loving grandfather and affectionately known as “BABA” of Michael G. Brandon U.S.M.C. of CA. and Karen Brandon of NH. Loving brother of Virginia Giggi, Ellen Bolognese and her husband Ralph all of Medford and the late Gloria and Pat Romeo. Brother in law of the late Aldo Giolito. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral from Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
