
Salem: Robert A. Morneau age 82 of Salem, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at the Peabody Glen Healthcare Center in Peabody. He was the husband of the late Barbara J. (Conley) Morneau.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Alfred and Florence (Breault) Morneau. During the Korean Conflict he served with the Navy in Africa. Following his military tour of duty, he returned to Salem and worked in the shoe manufacturing industry in the greater Salem area. In 1970 Bob began working for Cressey Dockham in Peabody and retired as a forklift operator in 1993. Following his retirement, he and his wife spent several years wintering in Florida and summering in New Hampshire.
He is survived by a daughter, Joanne Howell and her husband David of Salem, 2 sons, Robert J. Morneau and his companion Laura Fielding of Salem, Raymond P. Morneau and his wife Silvia of Cadiz, KY. 7 grandchildren, Lisa Martin and her husband Chris, Melissa Reed and her husband Scott, Chrystal Boyle and her husband Stephen all of Salem, Stacie Alves of Dorchester, Raymond Morneau and his wife Stephanie of Peabody, Ben Morneau and his fiancée Dawn LaChance both of Beverly, Roselda Morneau and her fiancée Danny of Salem. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Lorraine Levesque and Rita Silva and his brother, Benny Morneau.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visiting hours on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem.
Those wishing to attend his graveside service may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9 a.m. to be followed by a graveside service at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
