Walter Goterch, 84, of Salem, NH died Thurs. Nov. 25th at his home surrounded by his family.
Walter was born and educated in Methuen, MA the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Gazda) Goterch and he lived in Salem for 60 years. He was a paratrooper in the US Army 101st Airborne Division with the 506th Screaming Eagles during WW II. Walter retired from Raytheon.
Walter was a Life Member of VFW Post# 8546 of Salem, a member of the Derry Salem Elks and a member of the Hampton River Boat Club. His greatest love was his family and he loved spending time with them. Walter enjoyed gardening delighting in his prized tomatoes. He enjoyed fishing, boating, cooking, taking care of his home and yard and spending time with his dog, Otto.
He was predeceased by his son Walter Goterch, Jr., his brothers Rudolph, Frank and William Goterch and his sisters Mary Clement and Janet Nelson.

6 Grandchildren: Dr. Sherie Friedrich and husband Jesse Mayr, Sara Friedrich and fiancé Ryan Brotherton, Corey Friedrich and fiancé Rachel Denault, Kyle Friedrich who was his devoted caretaker for the past 4 months, Ryan Goterch and Ariana Goterch

Calling hours are Mon. Nov. 29th from 4-7 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
Funeral services will be Tues. Nov. 30th at 10:30AM at the Funeral Home.
