Manchester - Douglas W. Murphy, 71, died November 23, 2010 at Massachusetts General Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born on January 31, 1939, the son of the late Raymond J. Murphy and Florence (Cote) Murphy. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester, having graduated from Bishop Bradley High School in 1957.
Mr. Murphy served with the New Hampshire Air National Guard at Pease Air Force Base as a proud member of the 157th Refueling Division for over 38 years. He retired in 1993 as a Master Sergeant.
Family members include his two sons, Kenneth J. Murphy of Manchester and Chief Master Sergeant Daniel P. Murphy of Ft. Walton Beach FL. He is also survived by his five grandchildren and former spouse, Louise (Caron) Hart of Manchester.
Services: There will be no calling hours. A graveside committal service with military honors will be conducted on Tuesday, November 30 at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
