New Bedford –Cynthia Ann Collins, age 67 years, died Friday, November 26, 2010 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loved mother of Mark R. and his wife Christine Collins of Fairhaven and her granddaughters Brittni and Jessica.
Mrs. Collins was born in New Bedford, January 14, 1943, a daughter of Isabel (Sylva) and Robert E. Collins. She lived in New Bedford most of her life before moving to Fairhaven. Mrs. Collins attended New Bedford High School and was a graduate of Mr. Roger’s School of Hair Fashion. Cindy was a stitcher at Eastern Sportswear for over 25 years. She also worked at Trend Setters and as a sales clerk at Kmart until her retirement.
As a teenager Cindy enjoyed horseback riding and roller-skating for which she won numerous medals at Lincoln Park. In her leisure time she enjoyed the beach and her animals, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren, attending their numerous sporting events.
Mrs. Collins’s Visiting hours will be Sunday from 4 – 7 P.M. Services will take place at 5 P.M. during Visiting Hours. Relatives and friends are invited. Arrangements are by the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Funeral and burial will be private.
