Obituary

MEHAL - Richard Mehal, 83, of Yulee passed away Wednesday evening, November 24, 2010 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Mehal was born in Natrona, PA and moved to Yulee four years ago from Deland, FL. Memberships include St. Michael Catholic Church and the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U. S. Army. Mr. Mehal always had a smile on his face. He was always upbeat and accepting of whatever came his way. He loved all sports and most of all, loved his family dearly. He was predeceased by his wife, Dolores Mehal, who passed away in 2005, and by his parents, John and Johanna Gretz Mehal. Survivors include three children, Valerie Shibley (Jim) of Yulee, FL, Richard Mehal, Jr. (Annette) of Knoxville, TN and Bonnie Cantrell of Port St. Lucie, FL; a brother, Lawrence Mehal (Penny) of Genesee, PA; five grandchildren, Kimra Trusler (Mason), Dorothy Horn (Chris), Jamie Zambryski (Nick), Mark Cantrell, and Melissa Lopushinsky (Mike); four great grandchildren, Ethan and Carson Trusler, Riley and Madeline Zambryski; two nephews and a niece. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 29, at St. Michael Catholic Church with Father O’Shea, celebrant. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Vascular Disease Foundation (call 303-989-0500 or go to www.vdf.com to donate) or St. Michael Catholic Church, 502 Broome St., Fernandina Beach, FL 32034.
