Obituary

James A. Lucontoni, passed away at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington on Sunday, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Melina (Daniele) of Wilmington and the late Josephine (Maffeo) Lucontoni. He was eighty three years old.

Born and raised in Woburn he was the son of the late Josephine (Fedile) and Bernard Lucontoni. He later moved to Wilmington where he has lived for the last twenty-seven years. Jim was a truck driver for Colonial Provisions for many years before his retirement. His memberships include the VFW of Wilmington and the DAV of Woburn. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II, taking part in Guadacanal and Northern Solomon campaigns. Jim was devoted to his family and enjoyed being with his grandchildren.

Along with his wife he is survived by his son James and his wife Norma of Chelmsford, Denise Hatfield and her husband Lanny of Nashua, NH., and Donna Whitney and her husband Tom of Monroe, ME. Also eight loving grandchildren and one lovng great grandson. He was the brother of Esther Cipaletta of Woburn, Mildred Jewett of Winthrop and Fred Lucontoni of Stratham, NH.

His funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Friday, December 19, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Dorothy Church, Main St. Wilmington at 10. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Visiting hours at the funeral home on Thrusday, December 18, from 4 thru 8.
