Stephen A. Caron, 82, of Fairhaven, died January 30, 2002 at Our Lady's Haven after a long illness.
He was the son of the late Hormidas and Florida (Alexander) Caron.
Mr. Caron was born in New Bedford and lived in New Bedford and Fairhaven all of his life.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Fairhaven.
Mr. Caron was owner of Stephen's Floor Covering in New Bedford for many years and continued as a salesman in the floor covering trade for many years until his retirement.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.Mr. Caron was a decorated veteran of World War II serving in the US Army. He participated in the campaigns of the Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe receiving the European African Middle Eastern campaign Medal with 3 bronze battle stars, the World War II Victory Medal, and the American Campaign Medal.
Survivors include a son, Stephen L. Caron, and his wife Lynne, of Fairhaven; a step-daughter, Ruth Anne Fuller of Fairhaven; a brother, Leo Caron of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 2 sisters, Dorothy Cormier of New Bedford and Jeanette Oliveira of New Bedford and Florida; 3 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews who all meant the world to him.
He was the brother of the late Rita Stykowski.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 2nd at 10 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Fairhaven. Burial will be private.
