Nicola H. Ramy, 79, of Methuen, passed away on Saturday, November 20th at his home in Methuen.
He was born December 6, 1930, son of the late Habib N. Ramy and Matild Cory in Terbol, Lebanon. He was educated in Lebanon and was a graduate of the Fazio School of Beauty. He was in business in North Reading for many years as owner of Ramy’s Hair Stylists.
Nicola was a member of the Methuen Knights of Columbus, St. Anthony Maronite Church and Past President of St. Anthony’s Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the American Lebanese Awareness Association and was Chairman of the Charitable Committee and served for many years on the Board of Directors and School Commiteee.
Nicola is predeceased by his wife Vivian A. (Ramey) Ramy and a brother Akl Ramy. He leaves his two sons, Atty. Herbert N. Ramy and his wife Stephanie Chissler of Stoneham, MA and Anthony N. and his wife Ellen (Pachman) Ramy of Londonderry, NH, grandchildren, Nicolas Stuart and Anthony George Ramy, both of Londonderry, sisters, Marie Ramey of Methuen, Nazli Sarkis and Daad Cherabie of Lawrence, Hafeeza Younis and Liya Ramey of Lebanon, Brothers, Rev. Abdallah Ramy and Nasib Ramy of Methuen and Moosy Ramy of Lebanon and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23rd at St. Anthony Church, Lawrence. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Methuen.
