Worcester- Nellie R. (Buckley) Walent, 84, of 123 Holden St., formerly of Royal Oak, Michigan, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, in St. Vincent Hospital.
Her husband, Albin J. Walent, died in 1975. She leaves many nephews and nieces; grandnephews and grandnieces. Four brothers, William Buckley, Joseph Buckley, Julius Buckley, and Anthony Buckley, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of William and Rose (Malinauskas) Buckley, and graduated from Commerce High School. She later lived in Royal Oak, Michigan for 28 years, returning here in 1976.
Many years ago, Mrs. Walent was a child care provider.
She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Parish, and the Lithuanian Womens Club.
She enjoyed Scrabble, flower arranging, and crafts. She was especially devoted to her nephews, nieces, and their children.
The funeral will he held Saturday, Dec. 20, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
