New Bedford – Francisco M. Pimentel, aged 55 years, died Friday November 5, 2010 at Hallmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Pimentel was the beloved father of Adam Pimentel of New Jersey and Yolanda Medeiros of New Bedford. Frank was beloved grandfather of Cheyenne and Caden Medeiros. He was the brother of Maria Carreiro, Fatima Duarte, Rosalina Ponte, Jose, Manuel and Ernest Pimentel. Mr. Pimentel was the brother of the late Dennis Pimentel and is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his former wife Rachel (Mendonca) Cohen.
Mr. Pimentel was a son of the late Joao and Rosalina (Medeiros) Pimentel. Francisco was born in St. Michael, Azores and lived in this area since 1968. He was co-owner of the Portuguese Shanty Restaurant..
In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated. A celebration of his life will take place at St. John the Baptist Church on Wednesday at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to meet at Church.
In lieu of Flowers a donation may be made in his memory to the family in trust for Cheyenne and Caden.
