Methuen: Mr. Philip J. Byrnes, 69, of Methuen died Wednesday at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital. Born in Lawrence Mr. Byrnes had been an area resident all his life. Mr. Byrnes served in the United States Army. He was a general contractor and the owner of Beaver Construction Company. He enjoyed fishing and going to the casinos. Mr Byrnes was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus Council #67 . Son of the late John and Helen Byrnes and brother of the late James A. Byrnes, Mr. Byrnes is survived by:
his wife Wellena (Clevette) Byrnes of Methuen
1 Daughter: Michelle and her husband Jeffery Houle of Derry, NH
1 Son: Stephen P. Byrnes of Methuen
2 Grandchildren: Amy Byrnes and Erin Houle
2 Brothers John Byrnes Jr.,and his wife Joanne of Methuen

there are several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at St. Monica Church at 10:00 am burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
