Mary Margaret (Hopkins) Bernard, 87, A resident of Methuen, Massachusetts died on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Caritas Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
She was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on July 25, 1923 to Charles E. Sr. & Mary M. Hopkins, and educated in Lawrence Local Schools. She worked as a Sales Person at the Yum Yum Bakery in North Andover and the Sun Ray Bakery in Methuen, MA. According to her family she was a second mother to her nieces and nephews, she also was known as a social butterfly and that she loved and adored her family and that she always put family first.
She leaves her loving husband of 65 years plus: Andrew A. Bernard and leaves her son: Richard Bernard and his wife Barbara of Londonderry, NH, Grand sons: Lawrence Richardson of Merrimack, MA & Gregory Porter of Methuen, MA. Brothers: Charles E. Hopkins Jr. and his wife Mary Rita of Phoenix, Arizona, and Sister-in-law: Ann Marie Hopkins of Salem, NH. Her sister: Rita St. Paul and her husband Charlie of Methuen, MA. as well as 14 nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Leonard F. Hopkins.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 11:30AM at St. Monica Church in Methuen, MA. A burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
