Obituary

Old Saybrook, CT – Ada E. (Worster) McAlpine, 79, of Old Saybrook, formerly of Chester, CT, died November 19, 2010 at Apple Rehabilitation. She was the widow of Miles J. McAlpine.

Mrs. McAlpine was born in Kingman, ME, daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Elsie P. (Davis) Worster, and resided in New Bedford most of her life before moving to Connecticut. She was employed as a welder by Aerovox, Inc., New Bedford until her retirement.

Survivors include 2 sons: Myles J. McAlpine, Jr. and his wife Debra of Clinton, CT and Benjamin L. McAlpine and his wife Roberta of Fairhaven, MA; 2 daughters: Catherine A. DeMoranville and Myrna J. McLaughlin, both of New Bedford, MA; a sister: Lois McAlpine of Webater Plantation, ME; 9 grandchildren: Phillip McAlpine, Crystal DeMoranville, Rebecca McAlpine, Rodney DeMoranville, Alan McLaughlin, Paul DeMoranville, Daniel McLaughlin, Jessica McAlpine, and Jennifer McAlpine Slie; 13 great-grandchildren: David Brumley, Shane Brumley, Tara Brumley, Courtney McAlpine, James Brumley, Cameron McAlpine, Kaylee Sanchez, Jacob McLaughlin, Paul John DeMoranville, Shannon Slie, Jada Sanchez, Randall DeMoranville and Arthur Slie IV; a great great-grandson; Gabriel Brumley; and several nieces & nephews. She was sister of the late Phillip and Leslie Worster and grandmother of the late Adam McAlpine.

Visiting hours on Monday, November 22, 2010, 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Kirby Funeral Home.

Funeral services at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford.
