TAUNTON – Manuel S. “Mike” Carveiro, husband of the late Helen (Driscoll) Carveiro, died at Taunton Nursing Home on Nov. 16, 2010.
He was 86.
Born in Somerset, he was the son of the late Joseph S. and Emma S. (Medeiros) Carveiro.
Raised and educated in Taunton, Mike served as a medic in the U.S. Navy during WW II.
He later worked for the Rosemar Silver Co. and was subsequently employed by the Harodite Finishing Co. for many years, retiring in 1986.
A member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 57, Mike enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
He leaves two sons, John S. Carveiro of Taunton and George S. Carveiro of NH; three brothers, Robert S. Carveiro of Middleboro, Donald S. Carveiro of Orlando, and Wayne S. Carveiro of Taunton; a sister, Geraldine S. Carveiro of Wrentham; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was also the father of the late Michael S. Carveiro, and the brother of the late Joseph S. Carveiro, Jr., Kenneth Carveiro, Francis Souza, and Alice Frates.
Graveside Services will be held at Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton on Tuesday, Nov. 23rd at 12 Noon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Nov. 22nd from 4 to 7 p.m.
