Charles L. Hiltz Sr., 87, of Hudson, NH, died Tuesday, December 16, 2003 in the Fairview Nursing Home, Hudson. Mr. Hiltz was born in Wellesley, MA on May 16, 1916, a son of the late Walter and Clara (Donahue) Hiltz . He was a resident of Buttercup Hill Retirement Community in Hudson for 24 years, formerly living in Derry for many years. He served in the US Army Air Force during World War II. He worked as a maintenance worker for many years. Mr. Hiltz was most proud of his time as a Special Traffic Duty Officer for the Hudson Police Department.
He is survived by three sons, Charles L. Hiltz Jr. and his wife Karen of Lorton, VA, Claude Hiltz and his wife Geraldine of Fremont, John C. Eddings and his wife Kathy of Derry, two daughters, Robin Hunter of Manchester, Charlotte Lagere and her husband Roger of Lynn, MA, 11 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one sister, Margaret Elwell of Lynn, MA, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Edwina M. (Doucette) Hiltz in 1990.
There are no calling hours. Graveside services will be held on Friday December 19th at 11:30am in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Hampstead Road, East Derry. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
