Carol A. (O’Connor) Pizzi 63, of Franklin, died Wednesday November 17, 2010 at Massachusettes General Hospital in Boston, where she had been a patient since last Monday. She was the wife of Alessandro “Alex” Pizzi for more than 40 years.
Born in Milford, September 14, 1947 a daughter of Ruth (Carlson) O’Connor of Milford, and the late John O’Connor II, she was raised and educated in Milford, and is a 1965 graduate of Milford high School. She also graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 1969.
Mrs. Pizzi was a longtime local real estate broker and was the Vice President of the Coldwell Banker realty company in Franklin. She was also a Notary Public in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Carol was active in local, county and state Democratic political events. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, especially at her summer home in South Dennis, crossword puzzles, reading, travel and card playing. Carol loved life.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are 3 sons; Christopher A. Pizzi and his wife Marianne of Plainville, Dr. Todd A. Pizzi and his wife Irene of Shrewsbury, Eric M. Pizzi and his wife Lisa of Boston, a brother Laurence O’Connor of Bellingham, and 4 granddaughters Serena, Isabella, Laina, and Sophia.
She was also the sister of the late John O’Connor III.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Monday November 22nd at 11:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.franklinfuneral.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 12PM.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.
Calling hours are Sunday from 2-6PM.
