Obituary

Thomas A. Holden, 85, of New Bedford died November 17, 2010 unexpectedly at home.
Beloved husband of Natalie (Dewhurst) Holden with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Frederick and Una (Barrett) Holden, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Holden was a communicant of St. James Church.
Formerly employed by Morse Twist Drill until retirement, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and later graduated from Northeastern University.
Mr. Holden was a member of the Elks Lodge 73. He played baseball in his youth and later volunteered as a baseball coach.
Survivors include his wife; 3 sons, Thomas Holden, Jr. of Covington, LA, James Holden of Rochester and John Holden of Wareham; a daughter, Una Brassard of New Bedford; 4 grandchildren and 2 nieces.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, November 23rd at 10 AM. Funeral Mass at St. James Church at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday, November 22nd from 4-8 PM.
