Obituary

Dear friends---this is a note to let you know of the passing of Jim Duff on 11/07/10. He suffered a stroke at the New Jersey Veterans Home in Paramus. He is survived by his wife Lynn and his two sisters--Janet Alfieri and her spouse James and Jill Phinney. Also by brother in law Jack Berry and sister in law Marge Duff`, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Jean Berry and brother John and brother in-law Richard Phinney.Jim enjoyed his days at WPI in the Chemical Engineering program graduating in 1957. He was a Theta Chi and Acher through and through. He served in the Army at the Pictorial Center on Long Island and had a lifelong love of photography---you may have sat through a few of his slide shows on Yosemite or cross country trips he made! He received his MBA at Fairleigh Dickinson University and spent most of his working life at Lever Brothers in his beloved Manhattan. He spent many years bicycling across the George Washington Bridge from Palisades Park encountering only a few opened car doors in his way. He traveled the world and country with abandon. Jim was active in the Ft. Lee Elks and became their official bartender/treasurer in retirement. He loved being out in nature canoeing, bicycling, volunteering at Yosemite National Park, bird watching and barbecueing on the Palisades, or wheeling himself around the grounds of the Veteran's home to feed and photograph those New Jersey birds.
No formal services will be held but he'll be "blowing in the wind" at beautiful Yosemite.
