Louise Catherine (Leonard) Bourguignon, 84, passed away at the Yakima, WA home of her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Denny Colvin on Saturday, November 13, 2010, with family at her side. Louise was born in Boston to John and Margaret (Buckley) Leonard on June 4, 1926.
Louise graduated from Arlington High School on June 6, 1944, D Day. During high school she was a defense contracts stenographer at Raytheon and MIT. After graduation she attended Bryant and Stratton and worked for Harvard University. At Harvard she met Captain George Bourguignon, recently returned from WWII. They married in July 1947. Louise resided in Norwood and Wellesley where she was active on town and school committees. Louise retired from Wellesley College in 2003.
Pre-deceased by her husband George, she is survived by 4 children, Ty (Beth) Bourguignon of Needham, Teddy Bourguignon of Stoneham, Cheryl (Denny) Colvin of Yakima, WA., and George Jr. (Dawn) Bourguignon of Springfield, 8 grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Marsh of Woburn, Skip Colvin of Los Angeles, CA, Elly (Dave) Young of Manhattan Beach, CA, Greg Bourguignon of Brighton, Anny Colvin of West Hollywood, CA and Daniel, Hannah and Jeremiah Bourguignon, all of Springfield. Louise is also survived by 4 brothers, Jack Leonard of Windham, NH, Robert (Rita) Leonard of Burlington, Richard Leonard of Orchard Park, NY, and William (Judy) Leonard of Burlington, 4 sisters, Marjorie (Stan) Simeone of Woburn, Barbara Sprague of Jupiter, FL, Marilyn Barrett of Woburn, and Patricia McSorley (Bob) of Jupiter, FL, 28 nieces and nephews, and over 35 great nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, Tuesday, November 23, at 10 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Wellesley, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM. Interment Newton Cemetery.
