Brenda Kay McCormick Harrison, 64, of Fitzgerald, GA died Saturday, November 13, 2010, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM Monday, November 15, 2010, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Goodlet officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10 AM until funeral time.
Ms. Harrison was born April 24, 1946 to Frances McCormick and the late Albert McCormick. A 1964 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, she attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, GA, South Georgia College and East Central Technical College. She was the former secretary to the president of East Central Technical College and worked as an assistant librarian at Fitzgerald High School. She was a former member of Fitzgerald Junior Women’s Club and Gateway Garden Club.
Ms. Harrison is survived by her mother, Frances McCormick of Fitzgerald, GA; children: Kim (Mickey) McSwain and Clif (Judy) Harrison, of Valdosta, GA; best friend and caregivers: Deenna and William Brown, Brian Brown and Blake and Sheri Brown, all of Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her father and son, Darrien Gaines.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Central United Methodist Church, Fitzgerald, GA.
