OBITUARY

Fitchburg

Dorothy "Dot" Mossey, 92, formerly of 50 Day St., died after an illness on
November 12, at the Keystone Center in Leominster. She was surrounded
by her loving family.

A lifelong resident of Fitchburg, she was born on February 24, 1918,
daughter of the late Chester and Hazel (Young) Wood. She graduated from
Fitchburg High School in 1938 and was a member of the singing group
called Harmony Trio while in high school. Afetr raising her family, she
worked at the former W.T. Grant Co. as manager of the baby department
and later at Hunter Sportswear factory store until retirement.

A kind, gentle and loving mother, grandmother (Nana) and great
grandmother, she loved family get togethers. She had a keen sense of
humor, was an avid reader and lover of crossword puzzles, knitting and
crocheting and loved bingo and cards.

She will be sadly missed by her four children, Carol Cormier and her
husband Bob of Gardner, John Mossey and his wife Sheila of Ashby, Jane
Landry of Sanford, ME. and Paul Mossey of Fitchburg and daughter-in-law
Marilyn Mossey of Garden City SC.. Fourteen grandchildren and twenty-
three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Dot was predeceased by her husband, Gardner Mossey who died in 1977, a
son Michael Mossey who died in 1993, her sister and brother-in-law Phyllis
and Douglas Newcombe and beloved son-in-law Roger Landry who passed
away in 2007.

At her request, there there will be no calling hours and there will be a
private ceremony at the convenience of the family.
