Chancie W. Munson, 85, of the Illinois Veterans home at Quincy formerly of Germantown Hills passed away at Blessing Hospital in Quincy on Friday November 12, 2010.
He was born on September 30, 1925 in Ft. Madison, IA the son of Artie and Zelma Farr Munson. He married Ella Mae Harding on February 13, 1944 in Peoria. She passed away on April 21st 1985 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by 1 sister and 2 brothers.
Surviving is one son Jerry (Virginia) Munson of Metamora, and one daughter Dianna Pinkney of Peoria Heights. Further surviving are 4 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson, as well as two sisters Velda Funk and Delores Fowler both of Peoria.
A WWII US Army Veteran he was a glazier for over 35 years for the Glazier Local 1164 in Peoria.
Services will be 10am Wednesday Nov 17, 2010 at Mason Funeral Home-Germantown Hills Chapel with the Rev. Don Machen officiating. Visitation will be from 4pm until 6pm Tuesday November 16, 2010 at Mason Funeral Home-Germantown Hills Chapel. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorials may be given in his name to the Christmas or Activity Fund at the Illinois Veterans Home at Quincy, 1707 N. 12th St. Quincy, IL 62301-1397.
