Obituary

Brookfield: Donald E. "Blimp" Lachambre, Sr. 71 of 26 Quaboag Street, died Tuesday Dec. 9 in Harrington Memorial Hospital Southbridge. He leaves his wife of 48 Years Mildred S. (Letendre) Lachambre, Two sons Donald E. Lachambre, Jr. (Crystal) of West Brookfield and Ricky P. Lachambre (Joy) of West Brookfield, two daughters April M. Parzych (Walter) of Sturbridge and Crystal A. Letendre (Howie) of Spencer, a sister Doris Nugent of Brookfield, 8 grandchildren, 3 greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. predeceased by two brothers Norman and Leo Lachambre and two sisters Irene Hitchings and Cecile Fahey.

Mr. Lachambre was born in Spencer Son of Napoleon and Angelina (Gaucher) Lachambre. He worked at Klevin Shoe for 27 years then he was a machine Operator for 23 years at Flexcon in Spencer before retiring in 1997, after retiring he owned and operated M&D Bait and tackle in Brookfield. He was an avid flyfisherman and hunter and once fly fished with Ted Williams in Canada, A professional candlepin bowler holding several records and appeared on channels 5 and 27. He also loved gardening.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday Dec. 13 in J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terrace, Spencer at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours will be Friday Dec. 12 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
