Mrs. Myrtie S. Conner
Augusta, GA – Mrs. Myrtie Scoggins Mills Conner, 97 wife of the late Luther Conner and Glenn Mills entered into rest on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Place at Martinez.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Joel Conner officiating. Interment to follow in Westview Cemetery.
Mrs. Conner was born on March 16, 1913 to the late James W. and Fannie Lula Hamilton Scoggins. She was a longtime member of National Hills Baptist Church where she served as an Adult Sunday School Teacher. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Mrs. Conner is survived by her two daughters, Patsy Amerson and Martha Green both of Augusta; her two sons, Joel Conner and wife Vicki of Tampa, FL and Glenn Mills of West Columbia, SC; her son in law, Lawson Tuttle of Martinez; her fifteen grandchildren, Ronald Bonham and wife Jo Etta, Glenn Bonham and wife Paula, Michael Bonham and wife Glenda, Marsha Reese and husband Jimmy, Kathryn Bell and husband Roger, William McFerrin and wife Nancy, Treva Jackson and husband Charlie, Tina Westbrook and husband Michael, Glenna Mills, Ross Mills and wife Denise, Glenn Mills, Jr. and wife Teresa, Tonia Mills, Kyle Mills and wife Rhoda, Doris McLeod and husband Riley, and Andrea Bozeman and husband David; her 24 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 17 step-great-grandchildren, and her sister Mary Maxey and husband Charles.
Mrs. Conner was preceded in death by her son, Rufus Mills; her daughters, Atha Mills and Montie Tuttle; her grandson, Leslie Green; her brothers, Gemell and John “Buddy” Scoggins; and her sister, Mattie Waldroup.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Bonham, Ronnie Bonham, Randy McFerrin, Kyle Mills, Glenn Mills, Jr., and Jay Brown, III.
If so desired memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, November 11, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
