Obituary

Francis A. "Bud" Carr, 78, of New Bedford died November 10, 2010 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility.
He was the husband of Vita (Giammalvo) Carr.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late James and Frances (Devine) Carr, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Carr was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
He was formerly employed by the New Bedford Police Department for 32 years until his retirement as a sergeant.
Mr. Carr served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
His family would like to thank the staff at Hathaway Manor for their excellent care and compassion.
Survivors include his wife; 4 sons, Michael Carr and his wife Jean of Dartmouth, Richard Carr and Robert Carr, all of New Bedford and Daniel Carr and his wife Monina of Oahu, Hawaii; a daughter, Susan Martell and her husband Philip of Tewksbury, MA; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Saturday, November 13th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 10 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday, November 12th 4-8 PM.
