A. Daniel “Dan” Geribo, 67, of Mansfield formerly of Framingham passed away in the presence of his adoring family on Tuesday November 9, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Terri (Stolarz) Geribo, to whom he was married for the past 43 years.
Born in Saulte St. Marie, Michigan on October 11, 1943 he was a son of the late Albert D., Sr. and Rita (Purington) Geribo.
Dan grew up in Cambridge. He was a 1961 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Cambridge where he served as class president and was a recognized scholar and athlete. For his strong athletic skills he received a scholarship and graduated from Northeastern University and later earned his M.B.A. from Babson College.
A resident of Mansfield for the past 31 years, he had formerly resided in Framingham. He served in the National Guard during the Vietnam Era.
Mr. Geribo was the retired owner and president of Unfinished Furniture House, Inc. and later worked as a financial consultant.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield where he served as a former collector, Dan loved spending time with his family. His hobbies included cooking, skiing, playing tennis and when his sons were younger he enjoyed coaching baseball in Mansfield.
In addition to his beloved wife he is survived by his devoted sons Derek B. Geribo and his wife Holly of Norton and Dean C. Geribo and his wife Ashley of Mansfield.. The dear brother of Robert B. Geribo and his wife Jane of Arlington, he is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Kayla, Kassandra, Christopher, Danny and Mikey, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday November 13th at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Private burial will be held at the Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday November 12th from 6-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Dan’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to The Kraft Family Blood Donor Center, care of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute 10 Brookline Place, 6th Floor Brookline, MA 02445-9924.
